Hi Everyone, My hope is that soon brides will start coming on wedgab!
I do have a question for all of you. I have a bride wanting lights and tulle on a ceiling, could all of you share with me your secrets to getting the lights and tulle to stay up there. Does anyone have a step by step direction, I am sure we can all use different ideas on how we already do things. I hope this will get some questions going and help me out also.

Nora, are there already ceiling hooks in place at the location that you could use? Also, what kind of ceiling is it? Depends on if you have ceiling tiles that you can lift to put things in between or brackets of any kind...

If it is ceiling tiles, it's easy -- fishing line loops from the tile brackets. If not, I would suggest skipping the toole and use stage lighting in the wedding colors to uplight or wash the walls and/or ceiling. Or shoot their wedding monogram on the ceiling. It's easy, elegant beyond compare (toole and lights is slightly cheesy), and fairly inexpensive. Let me know and I can send you to a website or two for ideas.

hello all
I am wanting to know if someone could help me I have a couple that want to get married on the beach in monterey who do I call to see if I need a permit for the wedding ? this is a military couple so I am hoping that we can work out everything for them they are going to be on leave for awhile so it is all in our hands

Hey Maria, you are so welcome! I am so glad I could help, which sites dod you join? Remember to keep on the brides that send the leads...call...email...call sometimes they are just shopping around, but if you can offer them the deal(s) they are searching for then the wedding will be yours! Good Luck and keep me posted, I am so excited for you. Where are you located again?

Nora, go to www.creativememoriesdj.com and www.monkeyglue.com for a few lighting ideas. So easy!!
I have to go try that WedPlan.com site, it sounds like to me. The business is building, but I need it to build three times faster to make the rent.
Maria, I just researched Monterey, so let me get you some info on that. (I just have to go find the file.) The biggie was finding beach area that was accessible. What is their budget? That will determine much.
Maria, I am also leading the new Bay Area community for the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI). I'm putting together a mixer for July, so I'll let you know where/when.
