London, 23 March 2016 – TLC is to create a British version of hit US wedding series SAY YES TO THE DRESS after it became one of the biggest shows on the channel, reaching 15 million viewers in the UK alone last year. Starring British brides, the series is to be fronted by royal dress designer David Emanuel.
Filmed at Confetti & Lace in Essex, 40-part series SAY YES TO THE DRESS UK will unveil the inner workings of one of England’s top bridal boutiques. Cameras will roll as David Emanuel, teamed with Confetti & Lace owner and designer Christine Dando, and her dress obsessed consultants, guide the most demanding and devoted of brides to find the perfect bridal gown and say ‘yes’ to the dress before they can walk down the aisle and say ‘I do’.
Budget or bling? Strapless or backless? A-line or ball gown? It’s the one dress she’s dreamed about her entire life, and everyone has an opinion about it. Expect drama and emotion in SAY YES TO THE DRESS UK as these British brides with their high expectations and opinionated entourage keep the staff on their toes in order to ensure they get exactly what they want for their big day.
David Emanuel said: “I’m simply thrilled to be part of the global expansion of this smash hit TV show for TLC. This is an exciting challenge and I can’t wait to meet my brides to be!”
David designed Princess Diana’s bridal gown over 35 years ago which was one of the most famous gowns in history.
