Splendid Insights release their 2016 global wedding study of heterosexual and same-sex brides and grooms from around the world who were married in 2015. The regions represented in this study include Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, Middle East, North America and South America. Some high-level points of interest from this year’s study: spending in the economical wedding budget segment ($10,000 or less) decreased slightly from the year prior and spending in the luxury wedding budget segment ($96,000+) increased slightly. In addition, 1 in 5 couples (20%) now use Instagram in their wedding planning process. The top social platforms for wedding-related activities included Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and they were ranked in that order. Wedding Websites and Wedding Blogs were the highest form of media used. Wedding professionals having an updated Website along with a great personality is extremely important in the decision making process for hiring.
