The launch for the new Website AI JIE (www.ijie.com) will give wedding advice, relationship tips and pregnancy for the Chinese consumer. The launch happen early this month in Bejing with a bridal fashion catwalk of Chinese and Western gowns. Dong Jie and Pan Yueming a celebrity Chinese couple offered wedding tips during the event.

Carley Roney,The Knot Co-found,said, “In China the weddings are kind of mixed up, they have the whole Western portion and then they have the Chinese banquet. But we of course don’t cut the cake until the banquet’s over, and so it’ll be interesting to watch, it’s about creating new traditions, it’s not about bringing western tradition to China. I’m married to a Chinese man, we had a completely blended wedding and that’s what we really believe will happen; new traditions will be invented that are a combination of western inspiration and true Chinese cultural tradition.”

China Wedding Industry Development Reports that there are 10 million wedding a year. This makes the wedding market in China the largest in the world. The industry earns about 382 billion yuan or more than 57 billion dollars per year. The average couple spends around 12,000 dollars on their wedding. Eighty percent of weddings are combined with western and Chinese traditions. The Chinese wedding industry has been an untapped market until now.
