Q1:   How did you become an event designer?

Answer: 

Preston Bailey @PrestonRBailey:  I needed a job and a friend suggested that I work for some of his clients. I speak a lot about my journey on my blog at www.prestonbailey.com .

Q2:  What advice do you have for brides just starting the planning process?

Answer: 

Preston Bailey @PrestonRBailey:    Hire a planner, if you can! You need someone who can help guide you and look after things while you enjoy your special day.

Q3:   After 30 years in the event industry… What has been the biggest change? 

Answer: 

Preston Bailey @PrestonRBailey:   The emphasis used to be on tablescapes. Decor has spread to the entire room.  I now specialize in entire room transformations.

Q4:   What advice do you have for upcoming event professionals? 

Answer: 

Preston Bailey @PrestonRBailey:   Client service skills are essential. I think it is important to gain some experience in the service industry.

Q5:   What trends are you seeing this year ?

Answer: 

Preston Bailey @PrestonRBailey:   I think a bride should always create her own trend, but we highlight interesting finds on my #BrideIdeas blog.

Q6:   How should business owners balance their talent & ideas with the demands of the client?

Answer:
