Q1: How did you get involved with the #weddingmarket?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: From Engage Events which brings together wedding and event specialists from all over the world.
Q2: What is balance anyway?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Balance depends on each individual. Never try and make someone else’s balance your balance. My balance is completely different. I love to work, travel and spread my wings regardless of what others think.
Q3: Living in uncertain moments why do we choose to use other people’s rules?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: I believe that taking each minute of each day at a time allows you to experience life’s greatest treasures. I think too many people hide behind what they think they should do – what their parents did or what they are expected to do.
Q4: How does your past impact your future?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Many people try to break out of their comfort zone but few do. Everyone falls back to what they are comfortable with. This effects your daily decision making and goal setting.
Q5: Why do we follow other people’s dreams?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: We follow other people’s dreams because we THINK we want what they have instead of focusing on what makes us happy. What makes you happy, what do you like to do, what don’t you like to do? Know the answers and go for it.
Q6: How can we be 100% for every role we play in life?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: I travel every week and did the entire time my daughter was a little girl. She went with me 1 week a month on the road. When I was with her, my husband, family and friends I was 100% present. Most people who don’t travel don’t even spend quality time with those they love – I do. It is not the hours in the day that you spend with those you love – it is HOW you spend them.
Q7: How do we create a mission, value and vision that is truly your own?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Answer these 4 questions Who are you? Who do you do it for? What is it they need? How will they change as a result?
Q8: How do we get over being too busy?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Just get over it period. Without being busy you have NO BUSINESS. Plan your day the night before and stay focused.
Q9: How do we create a home away from home when traveling?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Always completely unpack. Carry everything that makes you feel good. Candles are great. Never eat in your room – that is like being in the hospital. Go to dinner even alone and sit at the bar and meet people.
Q10: How do we re-visit goals?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Every January look at your goals from the last year and decide what you need to do to prioritize and re focus. Don’t look back just forward – don’t fret over spilled milk
Q11: How do we re-examine our life?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Set down with those close to you and check in. Are you on the right track, are you happy? What do you want to change?
Q12: Why should we integrate personal and work?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: There is no such thing as 2 lives – it is one life that must be managed together.
Q13: How do you live today so that you have no regrets tomorrow?
Answer
Cindy Novotny: Always live authentically and true to yourself. Live a real life – be honest with yourself.
Q14: What would you like everyone to take away from this #weddingmarket chat?
Answer
